Session Title: Practicing Mindfulness as a Tool to Reduce Stress in your Life
Research indicates that people spend approximately half of their waking hours thinking about something other than what is going on in the present moment—and this mind-wandering leads to feelings of unhappiness and lack of focus. Fortunately, mindfulness practice helps us bring our attention back to the "here and now". In this session, you will learn what mindfulness is, how it is practiced, how to integrate it into your professional life, as well as how it connects to overall well-being. Mindfulness can support individuals during challenging times, including burnout and job dissatisfaction. Short meditations will be discussed and practiced throughout the session.
